Energy Development Corporation, the largest producer of geothermal energy in the Philippines and the second largest in the world, hired GrIDS for its flagship environment program -- BINHI. Our company had conducted reforestation monitoring projects in four of EDC’s project sites, applying the combination of geographic information system (GIS), remote sensing (RS), drone technology, and ground-truthing.

FORESTEREI Consult and Landscape Services
FORESTEREI is a consultancy firm that specializes in conducting environmental assessments and has been in existence since 2007. GrIDS and some of its personnel had been involved in several of FORESTEREI’s projects, mostly providing GIS services to these. Our most recent partnership with them was in 2018 wherein we were employed as a subcontractor in the Vulnerability Assessment of Apo Reef Natural Park.

UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry
The research and extension arm of the Department of Geodetic Engineering in University of the Philippines Diliman. UP TCAGP is a center of excellence for education, training and research in the field of geomatics in the Philippines. GrIDS provided a software license for one of their projects last February 2019.

FCF Minerals Corporation
A company engaged in the exploration, development, and commercial operation of mineral claims of gold and molybdenum mining projects. GrIDS provided geospatial services to FCF Minerals Corporation for their Runruno Gold Mine Site in Nueva Vizcaya. Our team conducted baseline assessment using GIS and remote sensing for the establishment of two (2) permanent biodiversity monitoring plots. Data collected were also used for Carbon Stock Quantification and Accounting using the InVEST Model.

The representatives from the LGU have attended both basic and advanced training of our company in 2016 and 2018, respectively. In 2019, the LGU requested on-site training on Photogrammetry as they aim to utilize the application of drone technology in their operations. All of these capacity-building activities were focused on climate and disaster risk reduction.

DILG Rizal Provincial Office
One of the Provincial Offices of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) who requested for a GIS training for their on-going project of generating spatial data, particularly about local road networks, in their efforts to provide an inventory of local infrastructure assets of their regional and local units.

Cavite State University
As part of their partnership with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office IV-A (DA-RFO IV A) on the “Climate Risk Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal”, the Cavite State University – Don Severino Delas Alas Campus engaged GrIDS for the capacity building component of the project. Our company personnel provided consultancy services for the following: Crop Occurrence Mapping, Hazard Mapping and Validation, and Cost-Benefit Analysis Training.

Center for Disaster Preparedness
The need for GIS consultants to mentor the technical staff of Tambulig Municipality in Zamboanga del Sur, one of CDP project areas, made the foundation enter into a partnership with GrIDS in providing Basic GIS Training. This is in line with the organization’s USAID-supported project “Participation in Resilience Building and Organizing Safe and Progressive communities for Empowerment, Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction (PROSPER).

National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
A research institute of the University of the Philippines based in UP Diliman. GrIDS provided a land cover change map in the Municipality of Los Baños as input for one of the institution’s presentations of the initial findings of their dengue study to the health workers of the municipality.

The Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD) funded the development and pilot testing of Project RAMDAM (Relief Allocation Management, Distribution and Monitoring) system, a COVID-19 initiative composed of a Mobile App and a Web Portal that could serve as a platform for residents and LGUs to share accurate information regarding relief distribution.
